The Church Manual: Attendee
The heart of the FP7 church has always embraced inclusivity. Just as Jesus welcomed people from all backgrounds, our church door is open to everyone. Whether you're discovering faith, have been on this journey for a while, or are simply curious, there's a spot for you. (Matthew 11:28) 1)
Being an attendee means you're someone who regularly joins in our church's gatherings. There is no need for baptism or official membership to be part of this community.
Attendee vs. Member
To provide clarity:
Attendee: This term refers to anyone who makes it a habit to attend church services. Baptism or official membership isn't a requirement. It's about being present and being part of the congregation, no strings attached.
Member: Membership has a more formal tone. One would need to undergo baptism at some point — whether in our church or another — to qualify. Once baptized, the option to officially affiliate with our church is available. New converts baptized by FP7 can also choose to move into membership.
Benefits of Regular Attendance
There are tangible benefits to consistently showing up:
Community: Regular attendance offers a sense of belonging and allows you to forge strong connections with others.
Knowledge: Every gathering offers insights into faith, God's word, and life's many questions.
Support System: The church community stands as a beacon of support during life's highs and lows.
In Conclusion
The role of an attendee holds value and significance. It offers entry into a vibrant community, even if one hasn’t chosen baptism or requested official membership. The church's core message revolves around God's love and the teachings of Jesus. As an attendee, you're part of this narrative, with the freedom to explore deeper paths of faith at your own pace.
